Surrounded by the controversy of Make up and Break up with Chris Breezy, Rihanna is hugging the big headlines again, this time
she is suing Topshop, a UK fashion retailer shop, for their failure to seek her consent before using her image on T-shirts which they sold to the public.
Rihanna, 25, has told global law firm Reed Smith to represent her in her claim against Sir Philip Green's Arcadia Group, which owns Topshop and she is suing them for an estimate of £5 million.
Sources said that Rihanna 's management had earlier told Topshop to stop the sales of T-shirts bearing Rihanna's image, but they however declined and continued the sales.
They (Topshop) buy the pictures from a photographer, but they do not pay the artist licensing fees. Unfortunately, UK law does not protect the artist," the source told the New York Post .
Topshop on the other hand is yet to make an official statement on the matter.
