FAKE SEVERED HAND CAUSES TENSION IN NOTTINGHAM.

Police called over fake severed hand.

Severed Hand with its finger chopped off.

A make up artist has been quizzed by the police in Nottingham after an alarm was raised by neighbours when  they discovered a severed hand with its finger chopped at a door step.

The body parts were put into evidence bags and forensics teams were radioed.
Eventually, amateur make-up artist Patrick Plummer put his hands up and admitted to police that the discovery was a prank gone wrong.
The 34-year-old, who designs props for theatre groups, explained he had made the prosthetic for a joke at his niece’s 15th birthday party.

His plan was to scare the teen when she came to his home to have her birthday cake last Thursday.
After successfully frightening the teenager, the family went inside – leaving the hand and finger on the pathway.

Police officers confronted Patrick about the severed hand. They didn’t arrest him but did bag up the hand as evidence and confiscated it.

Chopped finger.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said the officers eventually saw the funny side.
She said: "When officers arrived at the scene, a man, who was understandably red-faced, told us he was responsible for the practical joke.
"Instead of pointing the finger, we advised him about his actions. He promptly removed the hand and finger and apologised profusely."
